MRP Planner

Penz Products, a Tramec Company, located in Mishawaka, IN, is currently seeking a MRP Planner.

This position requires on-site presence at our office location and is not eligible for remote work arrangements.

Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm but hours could vary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans, schedules, and determines priorities of job orders. Distributes job travelers to the shop floor.
• Monitors workload and capacity constraints
• Works closely with department supervisors in monitoring and resolving production issues
• Reviews completed job orders to ensure material is issued and quantity is put away before closing each morning.
• Maintains planning parameters in ERP system
• Monitors forecasts and releases jobs accordingly
• Participates in improvement projects to keep production processes flowing smoothly and meet customer on time delivery
• Participates in weekly production meeting
• Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory
• Conduct regular cycle counts of inventory in accordance with the established schedule.
• Verify inventory counts and compare them to the inventory management system records.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
• Update inventory records in the inventory management system.
• Receive and inspect incoming shipments of product and materials.
• Verify the quantity and quality of received items against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Record and document all received items accurately in the inventory management system.
• Act as a back-up to logistics as needed which includes but not limited to scheduling inbound and outbound truck shipments, preparing BOLs and preparing any shipping documents needed.
• Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager

• Ability to operate a forklift
• Prior experience as a production planner in the industry preferred
• General knowledge of MRP
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and computer skills
• Team player to help positively motive others and support a lean culture
