Position Overview

The Lead Pharmacist at Gifthealth is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy department. This role involves managing pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining high levels of patient care and service. The Lead Pharmacist will work closely with the pharmacy team to optimize workflow, enhance efficiency, and ensure the accurate dispensing of medications.


How You’ll Help Us Improve Healthcare

  • Collaborate with the Pharmacy Director to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations related to dispensing activities.
  • Manage, mentor, and train a team of pharmacists across three locations, focusing on the dispensing and transfer of gastroenterology and specialty medications.
  • Oversee operational processes at all three locations in partnership with the Director, ensuring smooth dispensing and transfer of gastroenterology and specialty medications.
  • Work closely with the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Technician Lead to monitor and improve technician performance.
  • Coordinate with the Inventory Specialist to manage medication and supply inventories, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Director and Data Team to establish reporting mechanisms and alerts for dispensing and transfers of gastroenterology and specialty medications.
  • Assist the Director in identifying and implementing workflow improvements
  • Partner with Patient Care Representatives and Pharmacy Technician Trainers to identify errors and develop retraining initiatives.


A Few Things About You

  • Proven experience as a Pharmacy Supervisor or a similar managerial role in a pharmacy setting.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations and legal regulations.
  • Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Ohio, with a Pharm.D. or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, with significant supervisory experience.
