Industrial Inspection & Analysis is hiring a NDT Technician at our lab in St. Louis, MO.


The technician will perform hands-on Non-Destructive Testing and Examination (NDT / NDE) at customer sites and / or IIA business locations in support of IIA projects. The technician will perform the applicable NDT method such as Radiographic Testing (RT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Eddy Current Testing (EC), and / or other methods based on the associated skill level; assess the integrity of the item inspected with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications; and report the results to the applicable personnel. Additionally, the technician will support other associated tasks such as job preparation, coordination, mobilization / demobilization, and reporting as directed by their supervisor.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality procedures, laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Own personal and overall job site safety stopping the job if required due to unsafe conditions or lack of compliance to quality requirements.
  • Perform day to day and routine safety observations and inspections.
  • Perform pre-job preparations of equipment, job walkdowns, procedural reviews, etc. as required by the specific work scope.
  • Perform hands on NDT / NDE work interfacing with the customer and directing / training Technician Assistants / Apprentices based on the specific work scope.
  • Ensure work and used materials are compliant with manufacturer and customer specifications.
  • Perform post-job equipment, job walkdowns, procedural reviews, etc. as required by the specific work scope for the completed work and future work scheduled / planned.
  • Complete applicable job reports and other paperwork as required / instructed on or before the required date as communicated by the applicable IIA representative.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understand mechanical concepts and spatial relationships.
  • Understand basic physical NDT principles, processes, and limitations.
  • Knowledge of basic algebra and trigonometry.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and prepare technical specifications and procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills for daily interaction with customers and fellow employees.
  • Ability to use basic software and Outlook to generate service reports and communicate within the company including skills to navigate web-based service literature and programs.
  • Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license.
  • Take and pass all pre-employment screening, including background and initial and future random drug screening.
  • Meet or exceed quality program requirements for work experience on the applicable method and total work experience for the NDT method and level.
  • Provide verifiable evidence of previous certification, or completion of ASNT recommended training program for applicable method, or successfully complete the training program and applicable exams.
