Luminator is seeking to fill our full-time Shipping Clerk I role to join our growing and dynamic Logistics team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator.
The successful Shipping Clerk candidate will be part of a team working to expand a strong and proven concept that has solid growth potential, with the opportunity to create substantial shareholder value. You will be responsible for receiving, checking, and recording incoming shipments of various materials and products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The successful candidate will have the ability to challenge the organization effectively, resolve problems, and willing to provide a hands-on approach in finding solutions. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. - Packaging of all outgoing shipments utilizing specified corrugated and foam packaging.
- Shipping customer orders domestically and internationally using specified carriers and freight forwarders.
- Preparing commercial invoices and customs documents as required for international shipments.
- Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining files and processing paperwork.
- Sweep shipping/receiving area daily and keep workspace organized and clean.
- Adhere to building safety practices concerning access/egress in shipping/receiving area.
- Uses computer workstations to enter records, compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
- Release packaging orders to supplier when shipping material as needed.
- Drives lift truck to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Shipping Clerk I will be an experienced candidate who can successfully lead as a very hands-on Shipping Clerk to scale for additional growth and maximize potential.
This candidate will possess:
- HS diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 3 years of experience in inventory, shipping and receiving or related field; knowledge of schematics preferred.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology.
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
ADDITIONAL PRIORITIES:
The Shipping Clerk will prioritize and broadly execute the following:
- Ability to take initiative by identifying problems, conceptualizing resolutions, and implementing change along with having attention to detail skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage projects to ensure all deadlines are met is essential.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately with details and fluctuating work volumes.
- Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
- Ability to monitor and assess self-performance to make improvements or take corrective action.

- Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Ability to speak clearly so others comprehend the delivery of the message.
- Ability to read and explain schematics, preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs occasionally.
