Location: Midland, TX area

Position Summary:

The Analytical Chemist is responsible for the routine analyses of production samples.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure samples are analyzed in a timely manner using a variety of analytical instrumentation including but not limited to ICPOES, IC, UV-VIS, XRD, FT-IR, etc.
  • Execute routine and ad-hoc analytical tests on various sample types to validate product quality and uniformity
  • Perform Calibrations, Maintenance, and Troubleshoot problems with analyzers that may affect production or quality control
  • Develop, Review, Validate, Verify, and Update analytical methods ensuring compliance with partnering laboratories
  • Train lab staff of newly implemented and revised methods
  • Develop and maintain chemical inventories, training records, instrument maintenance logs, and other Standard Operating Procedure Related Documentation as needed
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis for deviations or nonconformances and participate in addressing them through Corrective Action Reports

Qualifications:

  • BS Chemistry required
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years in industrial lab setting or related quality role

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting instrumentation
  • Experience in working with a Quality Management System
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively
  • Strong organization skills required

Type of Assignment:

  • Direct Hire

Shift Schedule:

Monday Friday day shift. Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as needed.

Salary:

$67,000/Year - DOE
