Night Warehouse Supervisor

Shore Point Distributing Company, one of New Jersey’s largest beer distributors, is seeking a full-time Night Warehouse Supervisor. Located in Freehold, we carry an extensive line of national, regional and local craft beers for sale to customers in Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex, Somerset, Hunterdon, Warren, Burlington and Mercer counties.

The Night Warehouse Supervisors are responsible for working with the Night Warehouse Manager to manage a team of forklift operators engaged in the process of picking orders and loading trucks for daily deliveries, and inventory replenishment, and making sure all employees adhere to company procedures and safety policies. The night shift is a Sunday through Thursday week.

Essential Job Functions:

• Exercise of discretion and independent judgment in the following job functions:
• Assist in lead nightly pre-shift meetings to go over numerous work related & safety related topics with the staff;
• Supervising all night shift employees and ensure that they are all following company protocol and procedures
• Ensure selectors are: following proper pick path selection, and stacking of pallets.
• Spot check orders are they are being selected for accuracy.
• Perform routine walks of the cooler area of the warehouse.
• Administer write ups and/or tickets to those employees who are not following procedure or operating in a safe manner
• Delegating and assigning tasks and targets and evaluating the working of staff.
• Assisting night warehouse manager in nightly tasks needed to facilitate in the completion of the shift.
• Validates all out stock items.
• Able to operate a forklift, reach truck and an electric pallet jack.
• Ensuring the proper functioning of all warehouse tools and equipment.
• Effectively communicates all shift issues to the appropriate parties.
• Maintains a clean safe working environment.

Required Skills/Characteristics:

• Knowledge of the safety documentation processes for handling related warehousing activities.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented leader with strong team-building skills.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of warehouse management systems.
• Should have excellent leadership and administration skills and abilities.

Relevant Experience and Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in a supervisory position within a similar business.
• Beverage experience a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The employee will work in a typical warehouse/loading dock/cooler environment with a moderate to loud noise level and cooler temperatures and must adhere to all safety procedures. The position will require the employee to stand for long periods of time, bend, squat and kneel and occasionally lift cases of beer.
