Summary
The Financial Analyst develops, interprets, and implements complex financial and detailed cost analysis for financial planning and control.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance
- Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly
- Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generations opportunities and profitability improvement strategies
- Coordinates with all levels of Management to gather, analyze, summarize and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, new business planning, trended future requirements and operating forecasts
- Assist the Finance Team in the preparation of monthly reporting packages
- Study and collects data to determine the cost of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor
- Compiles cost information to be used in operating budget preparation
- Analyzes specific job costs, assesses margin, and researches variances from job quote work-ups
- Works collaboratively with other departments to improve processes and efficiencies
- Create and maintain Power BI dashboards for management decision making, working closely with IT to gather and clean data
- Maintain and improve financial reporting and forecasting packets
- Assist in the preparation of the budget and forecast
- Handle miscellaneous report requests to support the department and the business
Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail orientated with excellent organization
- Proven problem solver with deep understanding of analytical methods
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field is required
- 2-3 years of experience working on a Finance department as an Analyst preferred
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret finance/accounting documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
Computer Skills
- General proficiency in Microsoft Office required
- Excellent skills in Excel are necessary
- Familiarity with Power BI/data visualization software preferred
