Summary/Objective

The Vice President, Human Resources position is a critical member of the NextEdge team and will be responsible for understanding both business drivers and human resource capabilities to help drive business growth. The Vice President, Human Resources will be considered a trusted advisor to the business in relation to all areas of human resources in support of business strategy. The Vice President, Human Resources will lead a team and collaborate across the enterprise to drive company and business group strategic goals. The incumbent will be involved in projects to establish infrastructure and initiatives to enable rapid growth and scalability in the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Apply organizational effectiveness solutions to drive team and individual performance; instill and drive performance management routines and execution.
  • Effective HR Execution: Ensure HR operations enhance and enable business results while providing vision, leadership, and excellence.
  • Program lead for key HR initiatives within the function (talent assessment, employee development, compensation program development, productivity programs, key staffing initiatives)
  • Develop job descriptions and specifications, analyze competitive salary data, evaluate jobs, and decide upon appropriate wage/salary ranges, in conjunction with Compensation & Benefits teams.
  • Recommend compensation actions and corrective/employment actions to management.
  • Review or approve all hiring, terminations, and changes of classification and salary.
  • Review incentive plans to align with business goals and ensure all HR legal requirements are met.
  • Develops project plans; coordinates projects; communicates changes and progress; completes projects on time and budget; leads project team activities.
  • Ability to provide guidance and conduct investigations of concerns and complaints; involve appropriate individuals, seek legal advice, when appropriate, and successfully resolve employee relations issues with credible, creative, and consistent solutions; work with labor organizations as the need arises.
  • Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into HR plans.
  • Collaborate with senior management to understand workforce needs, evolve organization, and job designs and forecast future talent requirements.
  • Analyze, evolve, and manage compensation data and decisions to ensure competitiveness in the market and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting continuous learning and high performance. Act as a trusted advisor on employee morale and organization health.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to enhance culture, teamwork, and employee engagement.
  • Implement effective staffing and onboarding processes. Manage outsourced recruiting and search partners for most effective and efficient hiring. Oversee interview and hiring process to ensure effective decisions and positive candidate experience.
  • Execute and contribute to continuous improvement of performance management processes and culture of continuous feedback.
  • Facilitate talent reviews and collaborate with management in creating and implementing career development opportunities.
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Handle employee relations matters, conflict resolution and provide guidance to managers on talent related topics.
  • Ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Utilize data analytics to track and report on key HR metrics.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field. Master’s degree and relevant certifications a plus.
  • 15+ years proven experience in human resources in a fast-growing environment, preferably within the biotech or life sciences industries.
  • Specialist experience with compensation and benefits knowledge a plus.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into HR initiatives.
