Looking for a position that will be both challenging and exciting?

Position Title: Candy Store Retail Clerk

Palmer Candy Company is looking for Part-Time Team Members for our Candy Store. We are looking for Team Members who are outgoing, approachable, believe in a great customer experience and loves both gourmet food and chocolate.

We are looking for Team Members who can work 1 to 3 full shifts each week. Shift hours are 8:30 am - 5:30 pm.

The Palmer family has been making candy together since 1878; that is a lot of family time We have continued to grow together, sharing in one another's triumphs, learning from our mistakes and enjoying more than a few good laughs. We are proud of our unique history that is highlighted by five generations of family ownership and management. The Palmer Candy Company operates today as not only one of the country's oldest candy companies, but as the very oldest company of its size to be under continuous family ownership in the United States

A Day in the Life at the Candy Store:

At the Candy Store we strive to create a welcoming, fun environment for all who visit. In this position you must be willing to complete the everyday tasks associated with a retail position, while having a positive, fun, and professional attitude. Job duties at the Candy Store will include, but are not limited to:

  • Be a leader in customer service, always remaining positive and professional
  • Greet and assist customers with all their requests and needs
  • Operate a cash register which includes opening and closing registers as well as troubleshooting register issues
  • Follow all alcohol sales standards
  • Stock products and make sure shelves are organized and clean
  • Assist with Store decoration
  • Assist with inventory control
  • Create orders for pickup
  • Occasionally make deliveries and going to post office or to the bank for change orders.
  • Follow food safety procedures and coach to those standards.
  • Take orders over the phone, giving accurate prices, timeline for orders being completed, delivered, or picked up.
  • Understand computer system including inventory, manufacturing, and stock transactions

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must love interacting with people
  • Have the ability to stand for the majority of your shift
  • Have basic computer skills
