Position Summary:

Our company is currently experiencing rapid growth and we are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in Atlanta, GA.

The Senior Accountant will support the Corporate Controller for general accounting, monthly close and financial reporting.

The candidate must be experienced, detail - oriented and have the required educational background necessary to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. S/he must have a thorough knowledge of accounting and finance principles including best practices and procedures related to internal and external audit functions, GAAP accounting standards and have strong financial analysis skills. The successful individual will need to rely upon experience, expertise and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A proven ability to perform a wide variety of accounting related tasks. Individual must possess a proficiency working within an ERP system.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform and assist with month-end close accounting tasks including preparation of journal entries ensuring compliance with US GAAP
  • Ensure that all reconciliations, supporting schedules and analysis are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with the monthly closing schedule
  • Prepare state, local sales and use tax returns, research issues, ensure accuracy and documentation is clear and organized
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to cash, prepaid accounts, accrued expense accounts, debt and so forth
  • Maintain fixed asset register and lease schedules
  • Book and track intercompany transactions, perform month end intercompany eliminations and reconcile intercompany accounts
  • Manage and supervise Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable function to ensure timely month end AR & AP close process according to the accounting close schedule
  • Review of P&L accounts to resolve adjustment issues
  • Distribute month end actual versus budgeted reports to the subsidiaries with preliminary analysis in a timely manner
  • Assist in maintaining strong control environment within all performed functions
  • Assist with external audit by analyzing general ledger accounts and providing information and support for auditors
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes
  • Support subsidiaries and staff with accounting needs
  • Lead special projects and development activities as assigned by Corporate Controller and CFO

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA certification preferred but not mandatory

Experience:

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and ability to learn internal systems
  • 3 - 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Journal entry and reconciliation experience
  • Involvement in business registration, tax compliance and creating, distributing, and reporting tax datasheets
  • Experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred
