POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Assistant Branch Manager Location: TBD

Classification: Non-Exempt Reports To: VP Branch Manager


OVERVIEW

Assist the Branch Manager with all operational aspects of the branch, including security, policy adherence, and team development. Be a role model by demonstrating initiative, responsibility, integrity, professionalism, and dependability

Salary Range

Up to $28.00 per hour depending on experience.


KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Contribution to Credit Union Goals

  • Team members are charged with providing exemplary service to the owners every day.

Essential Duties

  • Assist the Branch Manager with the branch's operations by providing direction to the branch team while maintaining office efficiencies.
  • Answer routine to complex questions from team members and owners on policies and procedures and rules and regulations.
  • Assist the Branch Manager with branch security at all levels to include opening and closing the facility.
  • Ensure that team receives ongoing training on security and robbery procedures.
  • Train and coach the team to promote credit union products and services based on owners' needs.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Branch Manager to share observations of strengths and areas for development for team members.
  • Have advanced knowledge of duties and responsibilities performed as an Owner Advocate III
  • Maintain a higher level of expertise on credit union products and services based on owners' needs.
  • Act as Branch Manager in the absence of that person.



Security/Compliance

  • Prevent unnecessary losses by remaining alert to surroundings and following security policies and procedures to provide a secure working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Compliance and other regulatory requirements to which the credit union must adhere.
  • Maintain an understanding of and compliance with state and federal regulations and all internal policies and procedures.
  • Complete annual Bank Secrecy Act training and any other assigned training tasks.



REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of credit union products and ownership
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills; including telephone skills, to interact professionally and effectively with owners, staff, and others
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Accurate cash handling skills
  • Proficient typing and calculator skills
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours at management's request
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one-year experience as an Owner Advocate III (internal or external expertise)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to sit or stand for an extended period
  • Must be able to utilize/view a monitor for an extended period
  • Must frequently use a keyboard to enter data
