Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the overall administration and development of Mortgage Lending, Consumer Lending, Indirect Lending, and Collections operations, as well as credit union wide lending and collection efforts in general to maintain a level of member service consistent with the goals and objectives of the credit union.
  • Monitors the quality, mix and size of the loan portfolio and recommends changes to loan programs and to lending and collections policies to maintain loan/share, delinquency and charge-off ratios within target ranges as established in the budget and annual plan and approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Identifies; researches; and evaluates new lending programs for credit union members. Assesses new programs for their potential for increased growth and expansion of the loan portfolio, and impact on the overall level of portfolio credit risk and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensures lending systems, procedures and documentation are consistent with federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Ensures lending activities result in maximum volume, appropriate profit for the Credit Union, and a minimal delinquency ratio. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of lending services.
  • Supervises and appraises the activities of subordinates and support staff in such a way that allows them to provide members with an extraordinary experience in accordance with the credit union's core values.
  • Supervises and oversees Lending Department and Collections Department. Ensures personnel are well trained, effective, and optimally used. Instructs personnel regarding policy, procedure, and program changes and ensures they are well informed regarding related legal and regulatory developments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal training and experience.
  • Seven years' experience in a financial services industry with a minimum of 3 years in supervisory position.
  • Underwriting experience in commercial, consumer and real estate loans required.
  • Three years of sales experience.
  • Must be registered with the National Mortgage Licensing System
  • Thorough knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products for services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, and sales techniques.
  • Understanding of government regulations and legal requirements involving lending, collections, insurance, and related functions.
