We are looking for an IVF Charge Nurse to join our River North IVF team

The IVF Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient day to day clinical operations of FCI as they relate to the specific IVF Center.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop, implement and maintain nursing care standards for infertility nursing care.

  • Maintain continuity of patient care and serve as a liaison between IVF/ASC manager, physicians and patient, and between IVF lab and the clinical teams.

  • Provide coordination, delegation and support to clinical staff assigned to support the IVF center.

  • Provide leadership for day-to-day operations within the program by demonstrating competency in clinical activities.

  • Serve as a role model to other nursing personnel by demonstrating effective direct patient care, leadership and professional behavior.

  • Answer patient questions regarding patient cycles and calendars.

  • Responsible for some patient scheduling and coordinates ART with IVF lab/surgery center.

  • Responsible to assure that communicable disease testing is complete, accurate, and appropriate.

  • Call medication dosages to patient after coordination with physician.

  • Responsible for accurate, detailed, and complete charting for each patient and/or physician communication and any review or discussion about patient treatment plan.

  • Provide compassion and emotional support to patient throughout their infertility experience.

  • Assure that all specific physician instructions are carried out for treatment cycles and prior to calendar creation.

  • Work on special projects and assignments as deemed necessary by the Nurse Manager, IVF/ASC.

Skills & Qualifications

FCI requires all applicants to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 after commencing employment. New hires will be required to furnish proof of full vaccination prior to their start date. There may be alternative for an approved exemption based on bona fide medical or religious grounds.

Registered Nurse with current IL license in good standing. BSN preferred.

Experience in 1-2 years in ambulatory care is a major plus.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.

Experience in infertility nursing preferred but not required.

Excellent work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent time-management, customer service, and critical-thinking skills.

Ability to work well in a very fast-paced environment with a high patient volume, while maintaining.
