Position Summary:

Housekeepers play a critical role in guest satisfaction. Quality should be first and foremost. Cleans guest rooms and any public areas according to the property’s standards. They also work on laundry, general building cleanliness, and deep cleaning especially dirty areas in the hotel. Housekeepers also assist with breakfast.


Essential Functions:

These duties can be performed with or without and accommodation:

  • Enters and prepares rooms for cleaning. Cleans according to specific trained guidelines as outlined by Housekeeping lead.
  • Makes the bed or beds.
  • Dusts the room and furniture.
  • Replenishes guest room and bath supplies.
  • Cleans the bathroom thoroughly.
  • Cleans the closet.
  • Vacuums the carpet.
  • Checks and secures the room.
  • Records or reports lost and found items according to hotel policy.
  • Cleans public areas according to direction given by housekeeping lead.
  • Maintains and stocks housekeeping carts.
  • Completes laundry for the hotel and FLPP as required.
  • Participate in meetings as requested by Director and Assistant Supervisor.
  • Adhere and uphold company policies and procedures as related to safety, employee morale, dress code as well as the mission and values of the organization.
  • Maintain professionalism of housekeeping by ensuring a clean, uncluttered and well-supplied work space.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Accomplishes all other duties and tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of one year experience in a housekeeping position, preferably in a hotel or inn.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Computer knowledge helpful.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule necessary to support a 24x7 hospitality industry.
  • All employees are expected to provide a High Hospitality Standard in Customer Service. Employees are responsible for correcting and reporting all situations that could adversely affect the customer’s experience. Examples of this would be picking up garbage, cigarette butts, shoveling up snow from sidewalks, etc.

  • This role routinely is exposed to both a standard office equipment and external work environment. Must be able to work in hot, humid, raining, cold windy conditions. Exposure to different types of chemicals allergens such as dust, pollen, mold, etc.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands in a repetitive motion, reaching, grasping, rotating, bending, walking, squatting, standing, climbing and lifting in excess of 50 pounds.
