As a Mixing Laboratory Technician, you will Conduct testing of factory/laboratory mixed compounds and tire components for all product lines TB, PCR, LT, MC, and Race, & logs & reports data.

*This position will include working overnights and weekends*

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operates various analytical (chemical) instrumentation and physical test equipment (lab mill, curing press, Tensile Tester, RPA, X-Ray, Mooney Viscometer, Adhesion, Densitron, Hardness, MDR, Brabender). Documents and reports sample test data.
  • Validates equipment operation, performs calibrations/ maintenance on all equipment.
  • Strives to improve laboratory test systems to improve the accuracy and precision of the data.
  • Maintains Testing procedures and other work instructions.
  • Provides testing support for the Raw Materials.
  • Follows safety procedures and keeps assigned work areas clean and orderly.
  • Works to directive of supervision and performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated computer skills to include the ability to enter and retrieve data and understand the basic operations of computerized equipment.
  • 1-year experience as a Lab Technician or other applicable manufacturing work experience.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude (ability to assemble equipment, understand how a variety of test equipment operates, etc.)
  • Basic mathematical aptitude.
  • Proficient PC skills utilizing Microsoft Word & Excel software applications.
  • Knowledge of production testing of components.

Successful candidates will also demonstrate these additional qualifications:

  • Familiarity with testing techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to multitask and juggle multiple responsibilities/projects/deadlines simultaneously.
  • Meticulous, organized, and detail oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient PC skills utilizing Microsoft Word & Excel software applications.
  • Ability to lift 25 —35 lbs.
The pay range anticipated for this role is $42,000 to $55,000 per year. Please keep in mind that this range represents an estimate based upon requested experience and skill sets. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, experience, knowledge, skills, and may differ from this estimate.
