- Promotes and ensures a safe work environment and a safety-conscious work force.
- Ensure that process chemistry and process controls are working and that quality processes are implemented real-time to identify and correct failures in the controls throughout the process circuit.
- Assure that the highest production standards are incorporated within each area of responsibility.
- Responsible for supervision of the Mill and the on-staff Mill Operators / Technicians / Sub-contractors / other support staff.
- Direct the milling operations to ensure that mill production plans are achieved effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor mill performance, throughput, and recovery. Identify and correct any variances against budget.
- Establish, follow, and ensure success of the long/short term plan for the Mill.
- Work with the management to develop and meet the mill operating budget to control milling costs and optimize recovery.
- Report all mill production related activities, costs, issues, and incidents to upper management in a timely fashion.
- Implement operating and maintenance changes that will improve the mill efficiency and competitiveness.
- Monitor, evaluate, and review performance of employees. Train and develop subordinates for improved performance and succession plans.
- Practice effective communication, attend supervisor meetings, conduct workplace visits, coordinate any relevant activities with other departments and provide regular updates to the entire workforce.
- Deal with employee relation issues promptly, consistently, and fairly to ensure a positive work environment.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- Must wear protective equipment while at the location.
- Extended hours may be required, based on workload.
- Must be capable of acclimating to work at high elevation.
- Mineral processing expertise with experience in gold flotation and gravity recovery operations and professional understanding of milling and concentrating of gold ores.
- Strong prioritization, organization, and reasoning skills.
- Strong and effective leadership and communication skills.
