The Systems Admin is an IT professional who works with software developers, help desk and other production IT staff to oversee code releases and deployments. The role calls for someone who has relevant hard and soft skills to overcome the traditional barriers between software development, QA, testing and IT operations teams and foster a collaborative, holistic environment.
- Automate processes and ensure continuous delivery
- Monitoring and Administration of Windows and Linux systems
- Oversee production system configurations
- Analyzes the technology currently being used and develops plans and processes for improvement and expansion
- Upgrading, installing, and configuring application software
- Performs routine system and application maintenance to ensure the production environment runs smoothly
- Develop maintenance requirements and procedures
- Uses configuration management software to automatically deploy updates and fixes into the production environment
- Account and Access Management
- Creating and managing system permissions and user accounts
- Troubleshooting CI/CD Pipelines in Jenkins
- Building and running deployment pipelines
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Knowledge of computing infrastructures
- Familiarity with server management and monitoring tools
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency with scripting languages
- Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues
- Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 3+ years experience in a network administration role
- Previous experience with Jenkins, Jira, Confluence preferred
- MCSE certification a plus
