Marion Veterinary Hospital, proud to be the only AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) accredited practice in Ocala, FL. Services we offer include preventative care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, in-house diagnostics, digital full body and dental radiology, boarding, and grooming Our goal is to provide comprehensive and compassionate care for each patient and to effectively communicate with every pet parent. We work closely with the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida-Gainesville (UF) for more complex medical and surgical cases. Locally, we refer after-hours emergencies to PETS (Pet Emergency Treatment Services), an overnight, weekend and holiday emergency hospital staffed by UF clinicians, residents, students, and staff.

Our teams work together seamlessly, sharing insights, discussing cases, and learning from each other. We believe that collaboration leads to better patient outcomes. Our practice managers actively listen to your ideas, concerns and feedback. We leverage ‘Slack” an office communication tool to recognize team members’ achievements and facilitate seamless communication. We are located in Ocala, at the epicenter of equine care, in north central Florida. We are the “Horse Capital of the World” and the countryside is filled with gently rolling hills and pastures. Ocala is a family-friendly city with a variety of restaurants. After a fulfilling day at the clinic explore Ocala’s vibrant downtown area, shopping, arts community, parks, and freshwater springs, University of Florida at Gainesville is a short 45-minute drive, Orlando, and Tampa are just 90 minutes away, making them easily accessible with their international airports, world-class entertainment and theme parks. Job Description

Our Veterinarians:

  • Develop a relationship with our clients and partner with them to deliver the highest quality patient care possible. 
  • Treat each pet individually to minimize stress, anxiety or discomfort. 
  • Stay up-to-date with innovative and emerging veterinary medications, procedures, treatments, protocols and equipment. 
  • Collaborate and function as a team within the hospital.
  • Help to continue developing the support team. 
  • Treat every client like family and each patient like their own pet.
Qualifications

We’re looking for:

  • Full Time OR Part Time Veterinarian
  • New graduates seeking mentorship are encouraged to apply
  • Compassionate, Team Player and Strong Communicator
  • Proficient in general medicine and surgery 
  • Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an AVMA accredited university
  • Current DEA License or obtained upon hire
  • Active Veterinary State License 
  • USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire


Additional Information

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

+ Ability to sit or stand and work at a computer for long periods of time.
+ Ability to be confident around animals (i.e., dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. Candidate to confirm species treated with practice leadership for additional clarity.)
+ Client needs, and work volume may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job. This position may require special working hours, including working weekends, evenings and/or holidays.
+ Must have mental capacity and processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
+ The noise level in the work environment is moderately high. Ear plugs will be available upon request. 
+ Job requires sufficient ambulatory skills in order to perform required duties while working.
+ Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
+ Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate other equipment as required.
+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
+ Hospital teammates are routinely exposed to a variety of animals that may bite, kick or scratch, and on occasion, may be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological or zoonotic hazards and/or medication/controlled substances.
