If you have a thorough knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology, and you are curious and analytical we are looking for you We need you to mine, interpret, and code patients’ medical records, transcriptions, test results, and other documentation. We will need you to ask questions, connect the dots, and uncover information that may be at times difficult to find. You must abide by the standard protocols for medical coding, and we understand that you will have your own methods to gain the most accurate information to uphold the ongoing success of CMG

 

Objectives of this Role:

• Manage the high-quality, timely coding of diagnoses and procedures for inpatient and outpatient accounts, using ICD-10, CPT Category 2, and HCPCS coding classification systems, to meet billing system requirements

• Work closely with physicians, clinical staff, insurance companies, and other integral parties to uncover and discuss coding analysis results

• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Associate degree in health information technology OR

• Certification as a CPC for Family Practice

 

Other Requested Qualifications

• ICD-10, CPT Category 2 and HCPCS Knowledge

• 2-5 years medical coding for Family Practice

• Athena EHR

• Familiar with Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance programs

• Extraordinary interpersonal skills, highly collaborative, and builds strong relationships at all levels

• Organized and superior time management skills

• Ability to work independently and function effectively as part of a team

• Bilingual in Spanish or Karen is desirable but not necessary

• Patience, sound judgment, and discretion dealing with confidential information

 

Schedule: Clinic Hours are M-F 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

 

Compensation: Based upon experience and discussed upon offer of employment.
