JOB SUMMARY

The Social Worker is a principal member of the Clinical Team who provides specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning to individuals ranging in age from five to late adulthood. Provide psychotherapy sessions for individuals, groups, and/or families. The Social Worker reports directly to the Clinical Supervisor, with general oversight by the Program Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning
  • Develop a therapeutic relationship with each client. Provides individual, group or family therapy as needed.
  • Available for clinical consultation
  • Maintains ongoing frequent contact with other assigned professionals, parents or outside agency professionals assigned to case.
  • Provide case management (CPST or TBS), if needed
  • Assume a strong advocacy role for clients and makes recommendations for clinical and support services needed upon discharge
  • Actively participates in all treatment conferences and meetings for the clients
  • Complete all paperwork required by the agency within designated time frames
  • Provides education and resources for patients and family members
  • May clinically supervise an intern or clinically supervises Qualified Mental Health Specialist as needed
  • Participates in continuing professional education, departmental meetings and teaching
  • Required one to two hours of unpaid supervision and/or clinical team meeting
  • Maintain supervision log for supervisee and/or POD members as required by the agency, and state licensure requirements
  • Continued education to meet licensure requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Minimum educational level is a Bachelor’s degree in Social work with an Ohio LSW
  • A Master’s degree, clinical experience LPC, MFT, LISW or LPCC or IMFT is preferred
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and Insurance

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to concisely document clinical findings and patient needs in an electronic medical record while navigating a multi-specialized behavioral health environment and the ability to communicate across different electronic platforms and across a broad geographic provide base is essential
  • Knowledge and experience with Evidence Based Practice methods of treatment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide individual, group, or family psychotherapy
  • Complete Diagnostic Evaluations and Treatment Plans
  • Available for clinical consultation (direct and phone)
  • Work environment may include an agency office, school-based setting, or in the community including client’s home
  • Work flexible hours and is available for crisis management by phone
  • Complete all paperwork and documentation required by the agency within designated time frames
  • Participate in agency and community meetings as needed
  • Attend conferences and workshops to maintain professional competence and licensure requirements
  • Supervision of QMHS staff and/or interns
  • Maintain regular and reliable schedule
  • Required one hour of weekly unpaid supervision/consultation with Clinical Director
