Job DescriptionJob Description

Responsible for the development of person centered and positive behavior support programming through the use of functional behavioral assessment and implementation through the training of staff at assigned program sites. This includes but is not limited to:

· Design Positive Behavior Support Plans; train and support staff on the implementation of those plans.

· Design PBS plans that are person centered and will help individuals develop and maintain healthy and appropriate social behaviors while providing resources to deal with behavioral challenges.

· Design teaching strategies and interventions for behaviors that take into account the person’s interests, abilities, strengths and skills and are functionally equivalent to replace behaviors of concern.

· Assist Residential Directors/Residential Managers with the implementation of teaching strategies as needed.

· Consult with each Residential Director/Manager for the following:

o Regular review of each individuals’ Positive Behavior Support Plan to ensure its effectiveness

o Timely review of all behavioral incidents, programmatic concerns and overall status of each individual on the case load

o Review and analyze data monthly or more often as needed

o Assist with Plans of correction if needed

o Review Aversive Program Form Monthly and sign as needed

o Consult with the Residential Director/Residential Manager on programmatic concerns upon request

· Observation of each individual at home and at work as needed

· Monitor all data collection monthly

· Collate and graph data for appointments as needed and or requested

· Attendance at staff meeting when requested by Residential Director or Residential manager

· Attendance at DDS HRC and PRC Review Committees as needed for presentation of programs and data

· Assist in the preparation of Person Centered Plans for each individual annually

· Participate in Person Centered Planning Meetings with each individual’s team and present current analysis of behavioral progress

· Prepare and distribute Behavioral Progress Reports (graphs and narratives) to the individuals’ team quarterly

· Assist Clinical Director in training clinical and behavioral topics as needed

· Be physically able to perform essential job functions with regards to Physical Management Techniques

· Participate in internal investigations as needed under the guidance and supervision of the Clinical Director

· Assume other duties as assigned by Clinical Director.

Education, Experience and Qualifications

· Master’s Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or related field.

· Minimum of five years of experience in Human Services

· Minimum of two years of experience in providing clinical/positive behavioral supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities

· Ability to motivate, train and coach staff and a variety of teams

· Effective skills of communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with individual teams

· Effective computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and electronic record keeping systems
