We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Tree Climber to join our team and help us achieve our goals.

Job Description: As a Tree Climber, you will be responsible for climbing and performing various tree care tasks, including pruning, removing and assessing trees. This role requires a high level of physical fitness, attention to detail, and knowledge of safe climbing techniques and tree maintenance practices. You will work closely with other team members to complete jobs efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tree Climbing & Maintenance: Climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other climbing equipment as well as aerial lifts to perform all tree care related work.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure the well-being of yourself, your team and client's property. Perform safety checks on equipment and ensure proper usage.
  • Inspection & Assessment: Assess the condition of trees to determine the necessary pruning or removal procedures. Identify any hazards or potential issues.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and mini skid steers.
  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide recommendations for tree care.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely. Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed, including time spent on tasks, equipment used, and any issues encountered.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a tree climber or in a similar role. Relevant certifications or training in tree climbing and pruning are highly desirable.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work at heights. Good stamina and strength are essential.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of tree species, growth patterns, and common hazards/defects. Familiarity with tree climbing techniques and current safety standards.
  • Equipment Proficiency: Experience operating tree care equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and climbing gear.
  • Communication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to assess situations and make informed decisions regarding tree care and safety.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license; additional certifications such as ISA Certified Arborist or equivalent are a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Requires physical activity, including climbing, lifting, and working at heights.
  • Flexible work hours may be required, including occasional weekends or emergencies.
