TITLE OF POSITION: Payroll Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS: The Payroll Specialist shall have a degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or comparable degree. 2 years experience working with ADP payroll software preferred. Must pass KBI, DCF child & adult abuse registry, motor vehicle screen, and background checks. Must have reliable and insured transportation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:- Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: Regular full-time position
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Payroll Specialist will perform a variety of duties including the management of employee information, ensuring the accuracy of timesheets, computing wages, and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time using ADP payroll software:- Prepare and verify accuracy of bi-monthly Center payroll.
- Calculate payable hours, tax withholdings, and dedications.
- Enroll new employees in insurance and retirement programs.
- Update & process paperwork for employee transfers, promotions, and resignations, and retirees.
- Prepare quarterly and annual payroll reports and other payroll reports as needed.
- Maintain benefits file on all employees.
- Manage electronic timekeeping systems or manually collection and reviewing timesheets.
- Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll related matters.
- Coordinating with the HR department to ensure correct employee date.
- Trouble shoot issues in ADP and work to resolve them.
- Research and implement efficiencies in running ADP software. Recommend opportunities to make ADP easier for employees and managers to use.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer.
