TITLE OF POSITION: Payroll Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS: The Payroll Specialist shall have a degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or comparable degree. 2 years experience working with ADP payroll software preferred. Must pass KBI, DCF child & adult abuse registry, motor vehicle screen, and background checks. Must have reliable and insured transportation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  1. Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  3. Good time management and organizational skills.
  4. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.

NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: Regular full-time position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Payroll Specialist will perform a variety of duties including the management of employee information, ensuring the accuracy of timesheets, computing wages, and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time using ADP payroll software:
  1. Prepare and verify accuracy of bi-monthly Center payroll.
  2. Calculate payable hours, tax withholdings, and dedications.
  3. Enroll new employees in insurance and retirement programs.
  4. Update & process paperwork for employee transfers, promotions, and resignations, and retirees.
  5. Prepare quarterly and annual payroll reports and other payroll reports as needed.
  6. Maintain benefits file on all employees.
  7. Manage electronic timekeeping systems or manually collection and reviewing timesheets.
  8. Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll related matters.
  9. Coordinating with the HR department to ensure correct employee date.
  10. Trouble shoot issues in ADP and work to resolve them.
  11. Research and implement efficiencies in running ADP software. Recommend opportunities to make ADP easier for employees and managers to use.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer.
