About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, ETL processes, data modeling, reporting and analytics, and is passionate about having your skills in use for SaaS products and solutions.
You will play a critical role in shaping our data architecture, implementing best practices, and optimizing data pipelines to support business intelligence, analytics, and machine learning initiatives.
At this role, you will:
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of data from various sources.
- Generate reports that guide business operations and decision making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
- Develop and implement robust ETL processes to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity.
- Participate in data science exploration and enable productization of machine learning and AI capabilities
- Design and optimize data models and schemas to support reporting, analytics, and data visualization.
- Identify opportunities to improve data infrastructure, performance, and reliability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering and analytics.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and leadership.
About you
You are a SQL guru, experienced Python software developer, and enjoy automating all aspect of data engineering pipeline, including shell scripting. You understand how JavaScript and Frontend frameworks such as Vue.js present the data products and data tables. You enjoy getting things done in the Cloud, such as GCP. You’re self-sufficient in your skills in DataOps.
You have the strong sense of professional pride that you are the one proving the single source of truth, with regarding data. You are extremely detail oriented, curious to find how things work and why things break in a complex report by digging deep into our large code base and datasets. You are proud of your QA/QC skills and high quality of reports you’ve produced. You enjoy documenting and explaining what you did, and coaching other data engineers, business analysts, and non technical data users.
Deep inside, you have the insatiable desire to build data-driven products and deliver actional insights. You want to be seen as THE ONE who brings significant impact. You want to be the owner and key contributor of an AI and machine learning enabled SaaS product.
Qualifications
o A Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced degree(s), preferably in computer science, engineering or a related field with relevant certification
o Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with at least 5 years of experience in designing and implementing data solutions.
o Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL tools, and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)
o Experience with machine learning (ML) and predictive analytics; Experience in data science exploration and supporting ML/AI enabled SaaS products
o Expertise in SQL, Python, or other programming languages used for data processing and manipulation.
o Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and data services (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, S3)
o Experience with Postgre or other databases
o Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
o Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
o Experience with data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization techniques
o Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud or other cloud platforms
o Excellent communication and presentation skills: Demonstrated ability to explain technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences
o Strong interpersonal skills
o Strong self-driven motivation to learn and apply new technologies
o Ability to prioritize tasks from day-to-day needs through long-term project deliverables
o Comfortable multi-tasking and handling any number of requests as they come in
o Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
o Preferred experience working on channel, co-marketing, or other relevant initiatives
Requirements:
- Experience with data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization techniques.
- Design, develop, and deploy software platforms that align with our clients’ business needs and requirements.
- Work together with project leads to deliver solutions with successful client acceptance.
- Work closely with other team members and play an integral role in shaping the future of our platform, such as adding machine learning and artificial intelligence (ML/AI) capabilities.
- Be called upon to represent the agency in new business opportunities, either with your existing client or a new client, and will be expected to help lead and contribute to new business development.
