Cordelia Lighting Inc., a manufacturer and wholesaler of quality lighting products located in Rancho Dominguez, California, is currently seeking a Deduction Specialist.
This position will be responsible for carrying-out management of assigned customer accounts, with a focus on researching and resolving deductions timely and accurately. This may include some, or all of the responsibilities and duties listed below.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Researches chargebacks/deductions.
· Maintains customer web-portals updated.
- Works with Customer Service, Sales and Accounting to obtain data and documentation to determine whether or not a customer’s claim is valid.
- Disputes and follows-up on invalid claims with customers.
- If claims are valid, follows-up on the issuance of credits.
- Submits deductions and related credits for adjustment.
- Maintains deduction logs updated at all times.
- Contacts and follows-up on delinquent and/or over credit limit customer accounts
- Reports issues affecting the Credit Department’s efficiency and/or workload immediately to the Credit Manager along with a recommendation or suggestion(s) for resolution.
- Processes credit card payments.
- Processes e-checks.
- Emails invoices to select customers on a daily-basis.
- Processes and updates new and existing account credit files.
- If over the limit of authority, makes appropriate recommendations to the Credit Manager on increasing/decreasing credit limits.
- Releases or holds orders based on established credit criteria. Follows through accordingly to get orders released as quickly as possible.
- Actively participates in our industry credit group, including exchanging mutual customer credit information and attending meetings and tele-conferences
- Assists Credit Manager on special projects.
- General office duties: filing, making copies, scanning, etc.
- Maintains a clean, safe and unobstructed workspace.
- These duties are not exclusive and with consideration of the job requirements and employee’s skills, this job description can be added to or taken away at the discretion of the employee’s immediate supervisor.
Job Skills and Requirements
- Associates degree or equivalent and a minimum four years “hands-on” experience.
- Experience handling “big-box”/mass-retailers is required.
- Able to reliably work independently and unsupervised at times.
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Excellent at prioritizing a heavy workload.
- Proficient in MS Excel - MUST.
- Proficient in MS Windows operating system, MS Word Internet, E-Mail, and World Wide Web usage
- A team player.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of basic four-function math.
- Proficient on 10-key.
- Some Experience with Oracle EBS is a PLUS
- Ability to recognize and maintain the confidentiality of information.
- Regular, timely attendance
