Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCustom Structures of South Dakota is currently seeking to hire concrete finishers to do commercial and residential slab concrete work. Applicants must be motivated, responsible, and highly dependable individuals that bring quality workmanship, great attitude, reliable and punctual work ethic, and those who work well with others.
Pay:
- Concrete Finisher - $22-$30 per hour based on experience
Job Requirements
- Previous concrete finishing experience required
- Must have a Valid Drivers License
- Must be able to get to job sites
- Must be able to read a tape measure in inches accurately
- Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instruction, take directions, and complete tasks.
- Must be able to perform general physical activities: Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs. of material and equipment.
- Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
- Ability to work long hours.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, if required.
- Must be willing to travel to various job sites.
- Must be dependable with regular, prompt, and reliable attendance.
- Person must be able to work safely and follow all company policies. Must be able to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all personnel and perform all duties safely and productively to ensure quality work.

Job responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Concrete Finishing of all types of flatwork
- Ability to safely operate skid loaders, and other concrete equipment
- Assist the Supervisor and Project Manager in ensuring timely and successful completion of construction projects.
- Examine concrete forms to ensure they are properly constructed and can hold the correct amount of cement to complete a job
- Level, smooth and spread concrete using a variety of tools, including shovels, floats, rakes, power or hand trowels or power or hand screeds
- Monitor how heat, cold and wind affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire building process.
- Set forms designed to hold concrete to desired depth and pitch while aligning them
- Follows safety standards and conditions to prevent injuries and accidents
- Submit weekly time cards
- Rake and shovel concrete on a regular basis.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools to include but not limited to circular saws, grinders, jack hammers, concrete saws, etc.
- Setting of concrete slab forms. Ensure that forms are properly constructed for concrete pours.
- Removing concrete forms and sealing joints.
- Placing and tying wire mesh and rebar.
- Ability to spread, level, and smooth concrete using rakes, shovels, hand floats, and or power trowels.
- Material loading and unloading, carry forms and materials from trucks and trailers to the area for form setting.
- Maintain a clean jobsite: pick up all tools and equipment and secure jobsite each day to eliminate potential hazards.
- Diligently maintain the appearance of company equipment by keeping tools clean, handling and storing materials and keeping trucks and trailers organized.
