Champaign County Regional Planning Commission is currently seeking a temporary Home Visitor to join our team and provide services in Southern Champaign County  Champaign County RPC is a people-focused agency made up of over 100 programs designed to generate possibilities for all within our community. A great deal of planning goes into creating opportunities where people can succeed on their own, and RPC is doing that work. From analysis to policy guidance to offering services to our communities, RPC’s people plan for people.

The Home Visitor plans and implements home-based, developmentally appropriate child development and health services as well as family support services that based on best practices as defined by Head Start Program Performance Standards, NAEYC, and Illinois Learning Standards.  Serves each family weekly in its home or other family-chosen location and twice-a-month provides group experiences for enrolled children and their parents. Uses on-going assessments to ensure individualization for each child and optimal progress toward school readiness.
 

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development and/or a Home-Based Child Development Associate credential
  • Ability to fulfill all DCFS requirements, including a physical, immunizations, and criminal background check
  • Must meet all requirements for childcare staff as defined by the DCFS
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel to home of families, trainings and meetings
  • Ability to maintain records and implement a comprehensive, individualized education program for each family
  • Experience with children preferred
  • Ability to lift children
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (M-F)
 
Starting Hourly Wage:

CDA: $19.00
AA: $20.00
BA/BS: $22.20
MS: $22.88

As the Regional Planning Commission looks to the future, we will continue to seek new opportunities to expand and impact our community beyond the current measures of success. As we explore these opportunities, our work may take shape in new and exciting ways, beyond what has been the norm in terms of our service area and approach to programming.
