Perfusionist

Qualifications:

• Graduate from a certified Perfusionist program.
• Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusionists (ABCP).
• Certified by The State of New York Education Department to practice as a Perfusionist.
• New graduates welcome.

Requirements:

• Providing exceptional patient care both inside and out of the operating room, through communication and teamwork.
• Follow policies and procedures related to perfusion.
• Foster a strong relationship with other disciplines (surgeons, nurses, PAs, etc.).
• Record all patient information pertinent to perfusion pre-, peri-, and postoperatively.
• Use electronic medical records and electronic charting to optimize patient care.
• A yearning to better the field of perfusion through research using state-of-the-art data acquisition systems.
• Stock supplies and maintain equipment.
