LEASING ASSOCIATE - COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE

United Equities, Inc., a commercial real estate company in Houston, Texas, is growing its team and looking for a Leasing Associate. The Leasing Associate will source new tenants, negotiate lease parameters, lease analysis, negotiate renewal transactions, and close lease transactions. They will work with the leasing team to develop networks and strong tenant, broker and ownership relationships. They will identify potential tenants by performing market surveys and cold calls as well as sending marketing packages and materials to potential tenants.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain departmental databases and reports
  • Handle written communications including tenant letters of intent
  • Responsible for working with outside counsel in lease negotiations and to ensure accuracy for all lease documents
  • Follow up on leasing leads
  • Research and report on emerging retail, restaurant and entertainment trends
  • Canvas for potential tenants
  • Develop and maintain relationships with tenants
  • Perform current market surveys for all retail centers
  • Coordinate with other departments including Property Management, Accounting, and Lease Administration
  • Attend industry trade shows and leasing meetings
  • General administrative support

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2 + years of real estate experience
  • Real estate license
  • Undergraduate degree
  • A strong team player with excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects, strong attention to detail and time management skills plus personal initiative
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Strong grammatical skills. Ability to produce error-free documentation regarding spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Ability to provide prompt, professional service to incoming calls and work well with all levels of the organization.
