Emelin Theatre for the Performing Arts seeks a Marketing Director who will be responsible for the development, implementation, and optimized performance of the theatre’s marketing and communication plan. Director will seek to maintain and expand Emelin Theatre’s audience and outreach, increase ticket sales and market penetration and raise awareness about the Emelin Theatre in the region and its role and relevance to surrounding Westchester community.


The Emelin is a non-profit multi-disciplinary performing arts center in Mamaroneck, New York and is one of the most significant venues for the performing arts in Westchester County which offers an array of music, dance, film, comedy, and family programming throughout the year. With a mission to promote a cultural life that delights and educates, the Emelin is well-known for high-quality and affordable programs that leverage proximity to New York City to book area artists that audiences can appreciate in an intimate setting and at a reasonable ticket price.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee creation and implementation of cross-channel brand communications plan.
  • Drive marketing strategy and execution for the Emelin’s shows and overall brand.
  • Oversee and steer efforts including the creation and implementation of marketing plans, asset creation, media buys (traditional and digital), SEO, and analytics.
  • Conduct market research as appropriate to monitor and elevate brand appeal and relevance to identify potential new audiences and partnerships.
  • Continue to grow social media presence, including a focus to increase diversity of followers.
  • Oversee, collection and analysis of website and email analytics, audience surveys, ticket buyer surveys and other applicable data and making adjustments to enhance performance.
  • Develop and implement PR strategy and maintain press lists, including writing and distributing press releases through various media channels.
  • Develop and maintain the Marketing budget with the Executive Director.
  • In collaboration with Development and Executive staff, guide donor communications for use across all communications platforms, including major donor proposals, direct mail and electronic appeals and campaigns, event-related communications, and social media.
  • Provide marketing and operational support for the Emelin’s Annual Gala as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant performing arts marketing experience, with a proven personal track record of success directing the writing, creation, and implementation of brand marketing strategies, plans, and programs.
  • Ideal candidate will have comprehensive understanding of Westchester County demographics and arts audiences.
  • Broad based knowledge of a full range of marketing techniques and tools, including branding, advertising, direct marketing, market research and interactive technologies.
  • Full familiarity with and experience with Meta Business Suite and Ad Manager.
  • Proven ability as an effective written and verbal communicator.
  • Familiarity and competence with CRM software, preferably PatronManager and/or Salesforce and electronic communications platforms, preferably MailChimp or Emma.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite is required.
  • Ability to lead, multi-task and thrive in a collaborative, hands-on team environment.
