Job DescriptionJob Description

Responsibilities:

  • Install fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA codes and standards
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair fire sprinkler systems
  • Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other professionals to ensure proper installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems
  • Monitor inventory of materials and tools needed for job completion
  • Document work performed and submit necessary reports
  • Manage and mentor apprentices

Requirements:

 

  • State of Connecticut Fire Protection Unlimited Journeyperson F-2 License
  • Valid State Driver License with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to work overtime and to respond to afterhours emergency calls
  • Ability to manage and mentor apprentices

Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with others
  • Physical ability to handle heavy materials, work in confined spaces and at heights
  • Knowledge of sprinkler system components and installation practices
  • Understanding of state and local codes and regulations
  • Ability to use tools and equipment required by this position
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
