Senior Analyst / Buyer

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Analyst / Buyer evaluates bids and negotiates prices for purchased goods at the most favorable terms for the organization. Heavy analytics involved, Access, Excel. Knowledge of profit margin analysis, supply and demand theory and forecasting is required. The Senior Buyer will track purchases, monitors vendor performance, and maintains a current database of vendor information. Being a Senior Analyst / Buyer contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related field preferred

· Minimum of 8 years experience in relevant position required

· Additional background experience in any of the following areas preferred: retail planning/buying, purchasing or inventory control

· Must posses an advanced aptitude for all applications of MS Office

· Must love excel, dating mining, heavy analysis

· Must be a self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

· Must be able to effectively communicate, both written and orally

· Past work experience must include utilization of various negotiation tactics, calculated risk taking and tenacious follow-up

· Solid work ethic a must

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Including, but not limited to the following:

· Evaluates bids and negotiates prices for purchased goods at the most favorable terms for the organization

· Analyze and respond to customers’ RFPs

· Assess vendor pricing

· Identifying new business opportunities

· Inventory management, to include replenishment, DIOH, back orders, etc.

· Executive Reporting

· Miscellaneous special projects and other duties as assigned
