Job DescriptionJob Description

Summary/Objective

Manages, documentation/configuration control and documentation for logistic support. Manages the interpretation and coordination of contractually specified Configuration Management (CM) and cost-effective implementation of required Configuration Management, disciplines of Configuration Identification, Change Control, Status Accounting and Audits to assure delivery of quality, supportable products within the specifications, budgets and schedules.

 

Essential Functions

 

· Configuration Identification – assigning unique part numbers to drawings and documents.

· Control of engineering part number and document number log books.

· Change Control – Reviewing and releasing engineering change requests/proposals.

· Lead change control board in which to review and approve engineering change requests/proposals.

· Responsible for reviewing/releasing drawings and documents into the CM control file system.

· Support all departments, vendors, and customers with document requests.

· Responsible for maintaining an accurate record of the master drawing index, and master Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) document index.

· Responsible for document storage/retrieval, software storage/retrieval, and printed wiring board Gerber file storage/retrieval.

· Inputting data information into the Engineering Data Management System (EDMS) as required.

· Maintain, control and issue released drawing, and released test procedures to control files.

  • Responsible for the control of Configuration Management (CM) standards, CM plans, and procedures.
  • Perform Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) audits and create CSA Reports.
  • Responsible for Functional and Physical Configuration Audits.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as lab coats and safety glasses.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience

 

  • BS in engineering from an accredited institution and 3 years of work experience in CM of electrical/electronic equipment procurements or Equivalent experience of 5 years or more in the CM of electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Knowledge of CM guidance MIL-HDBK-61A and ANSI/EIA-649.

· Must have the ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, and Excel).

· Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

· Detail-oriented and meticulous work ethic.

· Extremely organized and efficient.

  • Must have excellent oral and written skills.
