Job DescriptionJob Description

Bridge Receiving Center is a residential trauma-responsive care program for children who have just been removed from their homes and are entering the foster care system for the first time. Our program combines round-the-clock direct care for the children with supportive services, recreational activities and transition assistance to children ages 4 – 12 years old and their siblings (up to 17 years old) with the goal of reducing their felt trauma and helping them to navigate this time of transition in their lives. Children are able to stay for up to 30 days with the possibility of an extension of no more than 60 days. Bridge is licensed for up to 6 children at a time. Our Center is located in Lake Stevens WA.

Qualifications
• Minimum Age of 21
• High school or equivalent
• Caregiving Experience with children:
• Driver's License

Full Job Description
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Serve as a safe, secure and stable presence for children coming out of traumatic situations
* Supervise and provide a safe environment for children both in terms of the home environment and their interaction with each other and staff.
* Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the home. Maintain safe, clean environment.
* Bridge is a drug and alcohol-free environment, and it is required that you are engaged, active and involved with the children at all times.
* Record keeping and documentation and any other administrative duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
* Attend and participate in all staff, treatment team, and in-service training meetings.
* Ensure that all children are appropriately groomed and dressed for all activities, keeping in mind some will have sensory needs and other issues that will involve special care. (ie school, appointments, playtime)
* Prepare assigned foods for breakfast and/or lunch and/or dinner and facilitate clean-up.
* Reasonable expectation to be available during holidays and emergencies.
* Interface with clinical staff, community agencies, administrators and public-school personnel.
* Implement treatment plan as devised by team and directed by clinical staff.
*Respond in a timely manner to requests for filling empty shifts.
* Maintain accurate records and reports on a daily basis: (Intake information, personal logs, treatment notes, staff communication log, departure assessment, incident and runaway reports, behavioral reports.)
* Ensure each child receives proper medical attention when needed.
* Administer and accurately document all medications in the medication log.
* Transport residents to appointments (i.e., court, medical, school) when needed.
* Adhere to agency policies and procedures, WAC requirements and state licensing contract.
* Report needs for repairs or replacement of items in the home to Manager.
* Provide stability by ensuring healthy interactions with the children and being a positive influence.
* Remain awake, engaged and alert during all working hours.
* An openness and flexibility in learning trauma responsive and developmentally appropriate tools for dealing with challenging behaviors in children who have experienced trauma
