Are you an experienced Certified Coder/Biller with a background in dermatology? Join our team to manage all aspects of revenue cycle operations in a fast-paced dermatology setting. Your role will include coding, billing, collections, denial management, and financial reporting, ensuring efficient claim processing and resolving billing issues. Stay updated on industry trends and provide essential coding education to our staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the complete revenue cycle: billing, coding, collections, and denial management.
  • Monitor trends and respond promptly to staff needs.
  • Communicate professionally with billers, providers, and practice managers.
  • Supervise, develop, and mentor revenue department staff.
  • Provide updated education on coding trends to clinical and billing staff.
  • Develop and revise billing and coding policies and procedures.
  • Manage billing compliance programs.
  • Reconcile receivables and revenue reports with the finance department.
  • Update the charge master based on current CMS fee schedules and contracts.
  • Conduct monthly analyses of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers.
  • Resolve high-level issues related to claim generation and denials.
  • Stay informed about billing procedures and government regulations.
  • Maintain internal controls over accounts receivable.
  • Oversee collection accounts and reimbursements.
  • Review and evaluate third-party reimbursement and credentialing.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least five years in medical billing, specifically in dermatology, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of third-party payer requirements, authorization processes, dermatology billing, and Medicare coding.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Required certifications:
    • CPB – Professional Biller
    • CPC – Professional Coder
    • CPMA – Medical Auditor
    • CPMA and CPCO certification a plus
