THE ROLE

This role is a contributor role working on a small, cross-functional team made up of 2-3 developers, a product manager, and 1 Quality Assurance Advocate.  The Quality Assurance Advocate is not solely responsible for quality on a team but should be always engaged in activity that will promote quality software development.  That means your day to day could include things like helping define features from a user’s perspective, writing test cases anyone on the team can execute, or helping write automated tests with developers. This position reports to Software Development leadership. 

A successful L3 Quality Assurance Advocate at Ncontracts will: 

  • Help their team produce high quality software, suggesting appropriate tool and process changes when necessary 

  • Ensure that their time is spent on tasks are spent primarily on shift-left tasks like test case writing and user story definition 

  • Help with bug diagnosis and analysis 

  • Work as a collaborative teammate, making sure everyone understands what high quality means for their current work 

  • Stay up to date on processes and tooling for improving quality 

  • Participate in learning and growth opportunities 

  • Be available to assist with release activities 

An L3 Quality Assurance Advocate at Ncontracts is expected to exhibit the following behaviors:

  • Deep Curiosity: You’ll be expected to research new and exciting technologies, perfect the use of existing technologies, and discover new libraries and tools that can effect change across the organization. 

  • Motivation: You’re a natural self-starter, and you enjoy solving problems. You can jump in with minimal instruction and figure out what should be done. 

It’s expected you’ll have the following skills and experience: 

  • Experience with diverse testing methodologies and tools 

  • Experience writing test cases and helping to craft acceptance criteria 

  • Experience working on a cross-functional team to deliver software 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
     

It’s helpful for you to have at least some of the following: 

  • ISTQB certifications 

  • Experience working with, in, and around horizontally scaling systems 

  • Experience with UI automation tools like selenium or cypress 

  • Functional knowledge of SQL as a tool for analysis and debugging 

  • Familiarity with systems integration 

  • Experience in SaaS based companies 

  • An automation mindset

Compensation Information

Pursuant to state and local law disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience and location is $80,000 to $105,000 per year. This position may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance and is not guaranteed.
