Capital Accountant

Locations: San Leandro, CA or Ft. Worth, TX

Hybrid: 3 days onsite/2 days remote

Full-Time/Direct Hire

$80k-$90k Salary

 

Our leading retail/manufacturing client is hiring a Capital Accountant to join their finance team This is a great opportunity to join a thriving company that truly values their employees. In this role, you would perform Capital Asset Accounting duties such as Acquisition, Depreciation, Revaluation, Disposition and Impairment of Company’s Assets. You would also perform Fixed Assets analysis, standard and ad hoc reports; develops, updates and implements policies, procedures pertaining to Fixed Asset area. You would provide guidance and assistance in the resolution of Capital Accounting issues; interprets and resolves accounting problems identified by auditors or internal departments; clarifies accounting requirements, procedural needs and priorities. The Capital Accountant will also track existing fixed assets and periodically substantiate recorded balances via physical inventories and/or confirmations and assist with insurance management.

 

Responsibilities:

·      Maintain all aspects of fixed asset accounting and reporting, including processing invoices, recording disposals, posting depreciation, and reconciling the ledger. Understand how new accounting standards may impact capitalization policy.

·      Review and reconcile monthly fleet activity.

·      Assist in the preparation of the yearly fixed asset budget. Partner closely with internal business units to review capital expenditure activity and provide variance analysis.

·      Support month end, quarterly, and year end close activities.

·      Fixed Assets Physical Inventory Process

·      Participate in the financial audit and preparation of audit schedules.

·      Help prepare quarterly board of director presentations.

 

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

·      3-5 Years of experience as an accountant, preferably in consumer goods.  

·      Advanced in Microsoft Excel – highly efficient, lookup and reference functions, if statements, and data importing. Knowledge of SAP preferred and Adaptive a plus.

·      Strong communication and analytical skills.

·      Be ok with transactional day to day hands on work as an individual contributor.

·      Knowledge of GAAP fixed asset capitalization rules.

·      Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

·      Exceptional organization, prioritization, attention to detail, multi-tasking and time management skills.

·      Positive attitude, highly professional demeanor, and a team player.
