We are searching for an IT Director to oversee the strategy, implementation, and progression of healthcare information systems. A strong background in healthcare and information technology with a proven history of leading IT teams and initiatives in a hospital setting is ideal. The position will work closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure technologies meet the needs of each department as well as the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the healthcare IT strategy in alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Lead the HIT department, managing a team of IT professionals, and oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of staff.
  • Ensure the reliable and secure operation of all information systems, including EHR, clinical decision support systems, and telemedicine platforms.
  • Oversee the implementation/integration of new systems to facilitate efficient workflows.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with department heads to assess and respond to IT needs, ensuring effective communication between IT and other organizational units.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, including capital investments and operational expenses.
  • Establish and review IT policies and procedures, including disaster recovery plans and data security protocols.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in healthcare IT, with at least three years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare processes and regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH.
  • Experience with EHR systems, health information exchanges (HIEs), and other clinical information systems.
  • Proven management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team of IT professionals.
  • Strong project management skills and experience managing complex IT projects.
  • Financial acumen to manage budgets and make cost-effective decisions.
