Position Summary:
As an SLP with NIA, you will develop and implement individualized education/treatment programs for students whose ability to communicate has been impacted by developmental differences, disabilities, or injuries. You will perform your duties in alignment with the Speech-Language Pathology Practice Act and NIA’s policies and procedures. This is a professional-level, exempt position where you will work independently and collaboratively with school teams. The role involves varied situations that require initiative, analysis, interpretation of information from multiple sources, and a commitment to service, discretion, and sound judgment in decision-making.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (Required)
Speech-Language Pathology license (Required)
Professional Educator’s License (PEL), Illinois School Support Personnel with Speech-Language Pathology Endorsement
Proficiency with school-based technology and office equipment, including computers and specialized software applications such as Microsoft and Google Suite.
Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Advanced organizational skills, particularly in time management and maintaining confidential files and records.
Ability to develop and implement goals, objectives, procedures, and work standards.
Strong ability to interpret and communicate assessment results, evaluations, and proposed treatment plans clearly to team members, the district, and parents.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
