NIA is looking for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to join our team serving 68 school districts throughout Northern Illinois. Position Summary: 


As an SLP with NIA, you will develop and implement individualized education/treatment programs for students whose ability to communicate has been impacted by developmental differences, disabilities, or injuries. You will perform your duties in alignment with the Speech-Language Pathology Practice Act and NIA’s policies and procedures. This is a professional-level, exempt position where you will work independently and collaboratively with school teams. The role involves varied situations that require initiative, analysis, interpretation of information from multiple sources, and a commitment to service, discretion, and sound judgment in decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (Required)

  • Speech-Language Pathology license (Required)

  • Professional Educator’s License (PEL), Illinois School Support Personnel with Speech-Language Pathology Endorsement

  • Proficiency with school-based technology and office equipment, including computers and specialized software applications such as Microsoft and Google Suite.

  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

  • Advanced organizational skills, particularly in time management and maintaining confidential files and records.

  • Ability to develop and implement goals, objectives, procedures, and work standards.

  • Strong ability to interpret and communicate assessment results, evaluations, and proposed treatment plans clearly to team members, the district, and parents.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
