Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe’re looking for an experienced 5 Axis CNC machinist to come join our team in Livermore, CA. We’re a small, tight-knit shop where everyone is hands-on in multiple aspects of the company. Your initial primary responsibility will be to operate our 5- Axis CNC mills (a VF6 and a UMC 500). Depending upon experience, responsibilities may expand to include 3 axis CNC machining, lathe machining, programming, EDM machining, and other areas.
Requirements
  • 5+ years experience operating a 5 axis mill (experience operating a 3 axis mill and/or lathe is a plus)
  • Comfortable setting up and operating a 5 axis mill without supervision
  • Able to keep multiple machines running
  • Able to calculate feeds and speeds
  • Able to understand G code
  • Some understanding of programming
  • Understanding of different types of materials, their grades and relative machinability
  • Able to read and understand shop drawings
  • Able to lift 25+lbs, push heavy carts or crates, and can stretch, reach, kneel, or crawl as may be required by certain tasks
  • Monitor machinery in order to identify necessary maintenance or safety issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
