Security Installation Technician

Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a Security Install Technician to join our team You will install and repair alarm wiring and equipment. The technician will be provided paid training on this company's alarm panel for the first 2-3 weeks of the position. Following the training, the technician will leave directly from their home in the morning to the first job on the day. Parts inventory will be held once a week at this company's Charlotte office. This position is presented as a 6-month contract to hire. If the technician can average 90% quality score for 2 consecutive months heading into the 6-month mark, the company will roll the technician permanent with company vehicle, gas card, benefits, etc... Quality score is determined by number of jobs the tech is able to complete without having to go back and fix their work.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and program new alarm and security systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with alarms and security systems
  • Identify risk to customers and provide effective solutions
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on alarm systems
  • Monitor inventory of service parts

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in residential security installation, maintenance, or other related fields
  • Previous alarm or camera installation / programming experience
  • Previous background in low voltage cabling (cat5, cat6, coax, etc...)
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service oriented
