Merraine Group has partnered with a top 100 rural hospital in Coastal Washington State.  Due to an upcoming retirement they have an immediate need for a Director of Facilities. 

The Director of Facilities is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing all activities of the Plant Operations and Environmental Services departments, as well as overseeing the hospital’s Safety and Security programs. The Director is responsible for ensuring that all hospital building systems are maintained in accordance with established standards and applicable regulatory requirements, managing various construction / renovation projects, overseeing project budgets and personnel, and coordinating and overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance programs for Plant Systems and Biomedical Engineering Equipment. The Director of Facilities is responsible for helping to create an environment and culture that supports achieving organizational goals. Manages a Predictive Maintenance Program to mitigate system failure and ensure that the Hospital physical plant assets are maintained according to codes, regulations and best practices ensuring system model performance.

  • Consults with management and other department leadership to recommend and plan changes that will enhance the delivery of the Island Health Purpose.
  • Manages contractors and/or vendors by reviewing inspections and repair reports, observing progress of work and evaluating the professionalism and workmanship of work being accomplished.
  •  Manages competitive bidding thresholds and  contracts in compliance with MRSC Small Works Roster regulations.
  •  Directs contractors and vendors in the resolution of issues that may arise with equipment they are responsible for repairing or installing.

Requirements for Director of Faculties

  • Minimum of 6 years of hospital/healthcare related engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years working in a supervisory capacity.
  • Current WA Driver License.
  •  Bachelor’s Degree or additional formal training in HVAC, electrical or other related field preferred.
  •  Advanced education in business, leadership or related technical/engineering field required.
  •  ASHE certification preferred.
  •  NIMS Training: ICS-100 and ICS-200 completed within 6 months of hire.
