Position: Delphi Developer

About the Role:
Our client, a leading company in the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking an experienced Delphi Developer to join their IT Application Development team on a contract basis. The primary focus of this role will be maintaining and enhancing an existing application, resolving defects, and supporting minor enhancements. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with the Delphi framework (VCL), as well as proficiency in creating Windows Forms applications using Delphi and Object Pascal.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain Existing Applications: Identify and resolve defects in existing Delphi applications to ensure smooth operation and user satisfaction.
• Support Enhancements: Work on minor enhancements and modifications to improve application functionality based on user requirements and feedback.
• Development Activities: Engage in various development tasks, including coding, debugging, and testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Windows Forms Applications: Utilize Delphi, Object Pascal, TDatabase, and TQuery components to create and maintain Windows Forms applications.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other developers, IT staff, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of development activities, code changes, and application updates.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Delphi Framework (VCL): Extensive experience with the Delphi framework, particularly VCL (Visual Component Library).
• Windows Forms Development: Proficient in creating and maintaining Windows Forms applications using Delphi and Object Pascal.
• Database Integration: Strong understanding of TDatabase and TQuery components for database integration and management.
• Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve application issues effectively.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, collaborating both in-person and remotely.
• Experience: 5 to 10 years (or more) of relevant experience in Delphi development.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Location: Must be able to work onsite in Alpharetta, GA on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Industry Experience: Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry is a plus.
• Extension Potential: Willingness to extend the contract beyond six months based on performance and project requirements.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Delphi Developer (Embarcadero) or certifications in database management, software development, or related areas.
