Job Title: Lead Cabling Technician
Employment: Full Time
Hourly Range: $20-$26/hr depending on experience

Accram is looking to grow our low voltage cabling team and need to have a lead cabling technician added to assist with standard technician items (including but not limited to installing, terminating, and testing structured wiring for both data and voice in commercial buildings) but also responsible for overseeing other technicians to ensure project task completion on a day-to-day basis.

We expect our lead cabling technician to have a professional appearance as you will be onsite working with our customers and their General Contractors, as well as be respectful, have a positive attitude, and excellent work ethic to help the team succeed together.

As the Lead Cabling Technician, you will be working with a team of technicians to ensure that the project is completed as scheduled and be responsible for the final outcome. You will work directly with the Project Manager for materials ordering ahead of time to ensure scheduling so it is important to be organized and thorough to ensure deadlines are met so other trades can take over when our portion is completed.

Some Basic Job Duties and Responsibilities for our Lead Cabling Technician include:

  • Installation of cable support systems (example: cable tray, J-hooks, etc)
  • Installation of Cat-6 network cabling
  • Termination of Cat-6 network cables
  • Build out networking closets (including racks, wire management, cable supports, etc)
  • Perform copper cable testing
  • Document work performed in company software and on as-built drawings
  • Installation of optical fiber (multi-mode, single-mode, LC, SC)
  • CCTV/Access control installations
  • Audio/Visual system installations
  • Complete and submit daily reports on time and progress

Necessary Skills and Expectations for this position include:

  • Ability to work on ladders and use power tools
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and setup heavy ladders
  • Operate a scissor lift and/or boom lift as needed
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to communicate professionally with clients and other employees both on the job site and when in the office
  • Installation of optical fiber (multi-mode, single-mode, LC, SC)
  • Work with minimal supervision and be a self-starter
  • Communicate with your Project Manager on a regular basis and able to order materials for the next week or more to ensure proper scheduling and task completion
  • Take responsibility for the progress of the project from start to end and run the project to ensure that all items are completed as scheduled
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed and there may be some out-of-town work requested
  • Be able to provide tech support and warehouse assistance as needed
