Job Summary and Purpose:
Develop Mastercam programs to control the machining and processing of parts by automated machine tools, equipment, and systems.

Functions and Responsibilities:
- Prepare CNC programs according to drawings/instructions using Mastercam, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
- Generate CNC programs to support new product/tooling projects.
- Develop fixtures and tooling for hand and machine operations.
- Write detailed shop instructions, including drafting drawings and layouts needed for production and assembly.
- Perform initial set-up on parts and troubleshoot as necessary.
- Assist estimators with quotes for complex parts or unique orders.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, programmers, estimators, and other personnel to resolve machining and programming issues.
- Operate CNC machines independently and assist in training others on setups.
- Identify, resolve, and/or communicate job or machine problems. Maintain a safe and clean work area.

Required Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 2-4 years of specific and 5-6 years of general related experience and/or training.
- Demonstrable hands-on knowledge and interest in machining.
- Mastercam experience is required.

Skills:
- Solve practical problems and address a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
- Perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Apply concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical scenarios.
