Minimum Requirements:

B.S. in Civil Engineering, Structural Emphasis
EIT Certification CA Professional Engineer's license preferred, but not required 5+ years of work experience in wood-framed structural design, understanding of AutoCAD, familiarity with IBC (International Building Code) and CBC (California Building Code).
Projects mainly consist of custom residential design and some light commercial projects. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated, detail oriented, highly analytical, highly independent and a team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.


Job Description:
Perform structural design of construction projects i.e., custom residential homes including new construction and additions/remodels, light industrial/commercial buildings, tenant improvements, retaining walls and various landscape structures. Complete structural calculations, markup structural plans/details and specifications/notes for construction projects that range from moderate to complex with minimal supervision by staff engineers. This includes coordination from commencement to completion with Clients, Architects/Designers, Contractors & other staff to meet project schedules. Other duties shall include site/field observations, printing/plotting and mentoring/assisting staff engineers as needed.
