Job Title: Bilingual Packaging Direct Buyer (Spanish/English)

Overview: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Bilingual Packaging Direct Buyer fluent in both Spanish and English to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing packaging materials directly from suppliers, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires strong communication skills in both languages, excellent negotiation abilities, and a solid understanding of packaging materials and industry trends.

Responsibilities:

  1. Sourcing and Vendor Management:

    • Identify and qualify reliable suppliers of packaging materials, both domestically and internationally, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve optimal value and service.
    • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and address any issues or discrepancies as needed.
  2. Procurement and Purchasing:

    • Execute purchase orders for packaging materials based on production schedules and inventory requirements.
    • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production and inventory management teams to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.
    • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any shipment or delivery issues.
  3. Cost Analysis and Budget Management:

    • Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and currency exchange rates to optimize purchasing decisions and minimize costs.
    • Develop and maintain budgets for packaging materials procurement, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
    • Implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
  4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

    • Collaborate with quality control and assurance teams to establish and maintain quality standards for packaging materials, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
    • Conduct regular audits of suppliers and materials to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental sustainability practices.
  5. Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with various departments including production, marketing, sales, and finance to align procurement strategies with business objectives and production schedules.
    • Provide support and guidance to internal stakeholders on packaging material selection, specifications, and procurement processes.
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings, projects, and initiatives to drive continuous improvement and innovation in packaging solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the packaging industry.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Proven negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Solid understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and industry trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software and systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to packaging materials is a plus.
