Concrete Formsetter

Under general supervision, is responsible for performing skilled work in carpentry and maintenance of residential construction. Form setting for work such as footings, slabs, shear walls, elevator and stair cores, foundations, and retaining walls using a variety of hand and power tools and equipment. Contribute to the Team effort for success by working wherever they are needed when they are available.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Tie various type of steel for concrete structures.
- Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
- Excavates and preps for concrete forms.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Able to work with all types of hand and power tools such as but not limited to trowels, skillsaws, hammer drills, concrete saws, layout, measuring equipment, small equipment and general construction tools.
- Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, or oral instructions.
- May be required to perform tasks from other job descriptions depending on available work and schedules, wall/foundation building as form setter, earthwork, etc.
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA.
- Must have a valid driver’s license to drive a company vehicle.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
- Able to pump water using the appropriate equipment.
- Know the difference between good and bad product as it is delivered.
- Respond to the Field Engineer, Concrete Foreman and their team to resolve issues.
- Revises work duties per approved change orders based on direction from Foreman.
- Maintains and ensures all OSHA standards are met.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Work cooperatively with the crew and follow directions.
- Perform a variety of tasks that require physical labor.
- Assist in other general construction activities as directed
- Able to accept and use clear and concise directions in order to complete work assignments
- Knowledge of concrete forms, pours, placement and carpentry terminology and materials used in the trade.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Skill in using concrete and carpentry tools and equipment.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
- Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position.
- Able to travel to and from locations as needed.
- Able to train less experienced employees.
- Able to set realistic deadlines and follow up to ensure quality results.
- Able to reason out any situation in the absence of their Foreman.
- Able to successfully operate correctly and train the operation of any piece of equipment on their job.
- Able to work outside requiring tolerance of outside temperatures including excess heat, cold and precipitation.
- Able to anticipate problems on the job before they happen in order to avoid wasted time and materials.
- Complete all daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
- Physical Presence Required.
- Face to Face/In Person Meetings.
- Regular Attendance.
- Ensure all required paperwork and conditions are met and followed as designed.
- Ensure the data entered is accurate and if there are questions concerning their accuracy, resolve the issues found.
- Ability to utilize SAM Construction application on a smart phone, tablet or laptop.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 year of concrete and construction experience preferred.
- Experience with heavy equipment operations preferred.
- Experience around cranes and lifting.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction preferred or have the ability to obtain.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous tasks.
- Able to stand and walk project site for extended period of times.
- Able to sit in cab for extended periods of time.
- Able to communicate, talk and/or hear.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- Occasionally required to but not limited to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
- Must be able to ascend and descend stairs/steps into crane cab and/or forklift, and in proximity of loud equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move at least 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- Must be able to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
- Must be able to work in hot and cold environments and on concrete floors.
Pay: $30 per hour depending on experience
