We are currently looking for a Facility Maintenance Technician for our Indianapolis plant. You would be responsible for PM’s, basic maintenance and repair of the facility, including interior, exterior, and vital systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, and air compressors). The Facility Maintenance Tech is also responsible for the maintenance and inspection of our tank farms and loading areas (storage tanks, blend tanks, pumps and valves).

The starting wage for entry-level experience is $23.00 per hour. The starting wage could increase with additional skills and experience. This position is Monday through Friday and the working hours are 8:00am – 5:00pm. This position is based in Indianapolis however sometimes requires overnight travel to all of Superiors locations in order to complete work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have a mechanical aptitude and be able to troubleshoot.
  • Basic electrical experience preferred (knowledge of PLC’s, and VFD’s a plus).
  • Ability to weld (Tig and Mig) and fabricate is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn new trade skills.
  • Willingness to operate scissor lift, boom lift, forklift.
  • Capable of climbing and work off of ladders.
  • Ability to operate power equipment such as drills, grinders, saws, pipe threading equipment.
  • Ability to use pipe wrenches up to 48in.
  • Must possess good communication skills and be able to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work at heights up to 50ft.
  • Able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver license and be willing to drive a 1-ton pickup and pull a 6-ton flatbed trailer as needed.
  • Anticipated travel is up to 25%, mostly day trips.
