The Speech Pathology Group & Rehab Services of CT is looking for a Speech Department Director to join our team

The Speech Pathology Group and Rehab Services of CT is a highly passionate and skilled multidisciplinary team seeking a dynamic and skilled Speech Department Director to join our SPGCT family. In addition to Speech, SPGCT offers families a broad scope of services including occupational, ABA, physical, and aquatic therapy services

Our ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ field experience in pediatric clinic environments, and will have made an impact in a leadership role overseeing and managing a team. Preference for additional experience in adult settings, schools, and/or early intervention settings. Management duties include supporting not only patient care, but also essential business operations. The Speech Director will work closely with the Clinical Director to develop and implement departmental structure and advancements to the company across both SPGCT locations, Shelton & Southbury.

Speech Director duties include but are not limited to

  • Evaluate and diagnose patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations.
  • Analyze results and write comprehensive reports & plan of care.
  • Create measurable goals/objectives that align with patient needs.
  • Develop a plan of treatment that is clear and concise for all speech therapists to follow.
  • Work in conjunction with other healthcare professionals when necessary and provide necessary referral/recommendations when needed.
  • Repeat evaluations yearly to measure progress according to professional guidelines.
  • Perform support duties such as preparing materials, keeping records, maintaining supplies, and scheduling activities.
  • Collaborate closely with Clinical Director to develop and implement systems and policies/procedures to help improve quality of service to clients.
  • Monitor client and/or company complaints and implement proactive solutions to resolve any quality issues identified.
  • Monitor patient goals and treatment plans, completed evaluations, and clinician parent conversations /training.
  • Ensure that the department has a list of strategic and ongoing tasks items to complete during any nonbillable hours that will benefit the practice and the community.
  • Organize and run monthly meetings in collaboration with the Speech Department Manager
  • Assist in hiring of new SLP staff: Complete secondary interviews, review resumes, assist with selection process as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • DOE Certification / DOH Connecticut State Licensure
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in the speech pathology field
  • Pediatric & Adult Experience Required.
  • Feeding / Myofunctional Therapy OM training preferred.
  • Must be able to travel between both SPGCT Clinic Locations.
  • Must have the availability to adhere to a flexible schedule as needed for the team
  • Previous Leadership Experience Preferred.
